Daniel Darancou is best known for being the creative force behind the QIANTU MOTOR Electric Vehicle brand of exquisitely designed automotive mobility solutions. His depth of experience and creative passion began in Los Angeles, California where he was born. The dynamic culture and trend capital of the world has provided the inspiration and foundation to become an award winning globally recognized industrial designer. Upon graduating from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, Daniel was invited to begin his initiation to the world of international design by joining the I.DE.A Institute in Torino, Italy. His mentor and friend Mr. Walter di Silva of Volkswagen fame pushed him to develop his creative passion on projects for Lancia and FIAT. Next came the strong pull from General Motors Corporation to regain their global leadership in global sales and innovation which had been lacking at the time. Daniel was recognized and recruited to apply the lessons learned in Italy on small car design development. His abilities and quest for adventure provided the numerous international design postings in Japan with Toyota, Suzuki and Isuzu joint ventures for GM Global operations. Smaller and lighter became an important element in the vocabulary of Daniel’s approach to design. It was part of this logic that propelled Daniel to join the team in Germany at Adam Opel to coordinate the complex assignment of developing vehicles to be sold in Asia, Europe and North America with common engineering platforms. Of course being part the vast brand conglomerate of GM provided rich opportunities in the design studio’s of Chevrolet, Buick, Hummer, GMC Truck and Cadillac design where Daniel was part of the team that created the revolutionary DNA of the CTS that now infuses all Cadillac’s moving forward. Having this extraordinary experience became a factor in Daniel’s most important assignment of his career. Design manager North America on the world’s first truly autonomous preproduction concept, the GM EN-V designed for the 2010 Worlds’ Fair in Shanghai China. Together with GM China (PATAC), Segway corporation and the entire GM Research and advanced knowledge centers, the realization of a fully autonomous family of self-driving vehicles stunned the world by the wonderful proof of concept displayed and demonstrated at the World’s Fair. This got the attention of many of China’s OEM’s who where starting to plan for an expansion of design and investment that has transformed the world. China wanted and needed people like Daniel to FastTrack the creative process. CH-AUTO is one of China’s largest leading design and engineering companies with deep relationships with the largest car and truck companies in China. They offered Daniel an entire company to build and manage a young creative team to assist the important task of offering innovative and original design and brand solution creation in order to evolve the entire industry. He is a pioneer and a recognized leader in his field and sought after by schools and industry to provide his vision and wisdom. Tsinghua University in Beijing counts Daniel as a friend and trusted source of enlightenment for the students. Alas, putting all of the unique applications and creative energy devoted to putting the top companies on the map finally awakened the leadership at CH-AUTO to embark on the ambitious process of launching the world’s most exquisite electric super car. Extra wide, low and fast with a completely fabricated carbon fiber body with an advanced battery and energy management system supported by an all aircraft aluminum structure left only one key question? How to design the most beautiful interior and exterior shape to compliment the technology. Well, Daniel and his team were more than up to the task. The result is the QIANTU K50, Agreeably, the first and most advanced vehicle from China. Not just the K50 but also the K20, K25, Concept One Lux Sedan and the MPV which stunned the world at the 2019 Shanghai Auto Show. Inspiration, Technology, Evolution and Transformation now usher in a new era of mobility moving and interacting as never before. ALLIV Autonomous is the solution to a larger narrative of the “Broadband World”.
